At DirecTV, I've developed a new way to talk about motion design, making it an integral part of our product design process. This has included creating and presenting motion/graphics requirements to the hardware and software development teams before any chips are bought or code is written; developing a motion philosophy that drives interaction design; analyzing different motion design attributes within Sensory, Emotional, Functional and Spatial properties; creating motion design mood boards; and applying this thinking to products used by millions of people.
